Packaging & Shipping
Packaging that keeps dried hibiscus dry, clean and deep red for weeks at sea, and shipping that gets it to your port on schedule — from Lagos to Mexico, the USA, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Choose the Format That Fits Your Receiving Facility
Loose-filled bags for tea and beverage processors who want intact flowers, compressed bales for extractors who want tonnage — we pack to suit the destination.
25 kg PP Woven Bags
The export standard for Grade A whole flowers: new, clean polypropylene woven bags, 20 or 25 kg net, machine-stitched and printed with your marks. Approx. 400–480 bags per 40' HC.
Lined Bags for TBC & Powder
20–25 kg PP or multi-wall paper bags with food-grade PE inner liners for tea-bag cut and powder — protecting against moisture pick-up and colour loss.
50 kg Compressed Bales
Grade B and extraction-grade flowers hydraulically pressed into 50 kg bales in PP wrap — fewer units to handle and up to 30% more tonnage per container.
Kraft Lining, Fumigation & Marking
Every container is lined with kraft paper and fumigated under certificate; bags are printed with grade, lot, origin and your contract marks.

Why New Bags, and When to Use Liners
Dried hibiscus is brittle, hygroscopic and sensitive to light, and it readily absorbs odours from used sacks. We use only new PP bags with a clean, tight weave and fill whole flowers loosely enough to limit breakage. For tea-bag cut and powder we add a food-grade PE liner: it stops moisture pick-up, keeps fines in the bag and preserves the colour that your customers are paying for.
- New PP woven bags, 25 kg or 20 kg net, check-weighed at bagging
- Food-grade PE liners for tea-bag cut, powder and premium Grade A on request
- Machine stitching with clean closure
- Printed marks: origin, grade, lot, net weight, contract reference
How Much Hibiscus Fits in a Container?
Dried hibiscus is light and bulky, so containers fill by volume long before they reach weight limits. Indicative loading guidance below — exact bag counts and tonnage are confirmed on the pro-forma invoice.
| Container | Packaging | Indicative net weight | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 40' HC | Grade A whole flowers, 25 kg PP bags | Approx. 10 – 12 tonnes (400 – 480 bags) | The standard unit for hibiscus; limited by volume, not weight |
| 40' HC | Grade B compressed 50 kg bales | Approx. 11 – 14 tonnes | Best freight economics for extraction buyers |
| 40' HC | Tea-bag cut, 20–25 kg lined bags | Approx. 12 – 14 tonnes | Cut material packs denser than whole flowers |
| 40' HC | Powder, 20–25 kg lined bags | Approx. 18 – 20 tonnes | Most space-efficient format |
| 20' GP | Whole flowers, 25 kg bags | Approx. 5 tonnes | Rarely economical — freight per tonne roughly doubles |
